Weekly Objectives for 2/9/15 - 2/13/15

Overview - This is the final week for the students to complete their experiments.  We are in the homestretch!!!  All week long, we will be conducting experiments, analyzing data, graphing and charting statistical information, making observations, drawing conclusions, and finally, forming our abstract statements. Once all of that is done, the students simply have to put all of their hard work together into a final report, create a display board and practice their presentations.  Wow!! They have risen to the occasion and are starting to understand that they are capable of meeting higher expectations.  We are so proud of how much time and effort they have put forth.

Monday 2/9/15 -
As usual, we had to shave some time off of class in order to get our Monday Morning meeting in, but we went right back at it.  We are in the homestretch!!  The students were given their final objectives before the Science Fair.  Hopefully, by the end of today, most of the groups will be able to conduct their experiments and give themselves enough time to complete the remainder of the projects.

Tuesday - 2/10/15 -
We now have a handful of students who have started or completed their science experiments.  These students are now analyzing their data and drawing conclusions on their hypotheses.  By tomorrow, these students will begin to construct their display boards and draft their final reports.  Hard work and dedication truly does pay off.  These students have been staying after every chance they get to complete their work.  It is amazing to watch them become responsible, organized and motivated students.
The remainder of the groups are still working feverishly toward meeting the strict deadlines.  They are finally realizing that the end is near, and they need to begin working harder toward reaching those expectations.  They are beginning to make everyone in their group accountable for assignments, and delegation practices are slowly improving.  It truly takes the whole team to come together to make this project happen.  It is awesome to watch students realize this, and to see them try to put that in action.
