Weekly Objectives for 11/12/14 - 11/14/14

Overview - The Newsroom enjoyed the extended weekend, but we are now back in action.  The young media specialists jumped right back into the flow.  From the beginning meeting, right down to the editing of the broadcast, the groups were cohesive and on task.  The newspaper, broadcast and blog are running smoothly.  The editors have become true professionals with the SONY Vegas system.  On next Wednesday, please come out to the Greek Fest.  We can share our hard work with all of you.

Wednesday - 11/12/14 -
Today is a busy one for the newsroom.  We are back on track and covering great ground.  The students have been meeting about how to handle disgruntled employees, and how to handle those employees that are working up to their capabilities.  It was impressive to see students hashing out their problems, without an adult intervening.  Great job.
Enjoy the paper and continue to support our room by visiting Blog Spot.

Thursday - 11/13/14 -
The group is back to the grind.  We have added new journalists to the crew to hopefully add more competition with their story writing.  The students are really getting a strong grasp of how the real world work.  They understand that competition is good for motivation, as well as helping students "raise their game," in the academic sense.
We will be hosting visitors tomorrow from Beekmantown, Chateaugay, and Hannibal school districts.  The students will certainly be up for the challenge, and ready to answer any questions they may have.  We will be winding down shortly, as the Greek Festival is upon us soon.  The students need to start thinking about equipment needs in the gymnasium.  There is quite a bit of work to take care of before then.  Are we up for the challenge? Only time will tell.
